My Philosophy of Education I commit that education should be looked as as a desire to bear all possible knowledge, non as a requirement or something that can be formally examined by standardized tests. There are legion(predicate) ways that children learn and I want to be able to encourage as much learning as possible for each child. I believe that using many methods of instruction is the most effective way of teaching to these various ways of learning. These methods include group work, hands-on activities, buddy work, etc. estimate of children should follow the same idea. When children get the chance to perform on different assessments, they can adequately show their strengths and weaknesses. I do not wish to depone on tests only to assess the students in my class. Some types of assessment that I think should be inlcuded in a classroom are journals, presentations, projects and interviews. I excessively think that the classroom should be run with the help of the chi ldren. By distributing jobs among the children and everyone participating in the classroom, the students volition form a sense of togetherness. This will eventually make water a community within the classroom. I feel that this community of learners is essential for the students to perform effectively and efficiently. They will feel comfortable in the environment and will not be afraid to take risks or ask questions. The teacher will also be a member of this community and will not be seen as unapproachable or as the only leader. The teacher should also not be seen as the facilitator of all information in the classroom. The students should be looking to other sources for information, including each other, books, and technology. There should be many points of view exemplified in each subject area. The students will be able to state their tactual sensation and also listen to the other students views. I believe that the curriculum should be flexible. While teachin g a certain subject, if the students wish to learn about something else or move into a different idea, I want to be able to do that. I do not want to say that we arent going to catch enough time to cover something.

Sudden Infant Death SyndromeSIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) is a traumatic and tragic disease that affects thousands of babies throughout the world every year. There is no way of explaining the death of a child that has SIDS and there are no real ways of predicting if it could return to any baby. What makes SIDS even worse is that the source of what exactly may be the cause of it is still unknown. Advanced research in the last 30 years has dramatically reduced the number of deaths. SIDS not only affects the infants but also the families of the infant and it proves to be a very tough and emotional experience for them.So what exactly is SIDS? The term SIDS was finally defined in 1969 as the sudden death of an infant or child, which is unheralded by history and in which a through post-mortem examination fails to demonstrate an adequate cause of death (Culbertson 3). Basically this is another way of saying that it is not known why these babies die. SIDS is not a new disease contr ary to what some people might believe, but it has been happening throughout time, unexplained deaths of babies are even recorded in the bible. SIDS was probably the most neglected disease ever recorded in history of man. It wasnt until recently that major(ip) steps were taken to figure out why babies were dying so unexpectedly and what could we do to prevent it from happening. So what exactly causes SIDS and is there anything we green goddess do to prevent it? Well as of right now, the cause of SIDS is unknown. We do not know what causes SIDS and there are no lucid warning signs that might alert us to the risk of it. However, scientists and researchers have discovered umpteen things that might attribute to the causes of SIDS. SIDS almost always occurs at nighttime when the infant is sleeping. A higher incidence of SIDS is seen among premature and low birth weight children. Women who smoke and let their children be exposed to smoke slacken off their children a higher risk of SID S. Low birth rates among children have a higher chance of getting SIDS. Finally there is a oft higher rate of SIDS when infants are placed on their stomach to sleep.(Culbertson, 8-10) One of the biggest recommendations physicians make to new parents today is to let their babies sleep on their back. pose them on their back greatly decreases the risk of SIDS to their children.
